Malton & Norton Lions are looking for local charities and organisations to apply for our 2024 Community Fund Grants
Lions charity bonanza for local charities
Ten local charities are set to receive £600 from Malton and Norton Lions in their annual grant scheme.
Launching the Malton and Norton Lions Community Fund scheme, Lion President, Lindsay Wrightson, said: “After the success of our Community Awards in recent years, we have decided to run the grants scheme again and are encouraging small local charities to apply.
In the current economic climate it has been difficult for smaller charities to access grants, so we want to do our bit locally to support these groups who work so hard in Malton and Norton and contribute so much to our community by the brilliant work they do.
The Lions work throughout the year raising funds to support local charities and individuals and we want to offer grants to a wider range of groups that may not have thought of approaching us for funding in the past, but who want to deliver smaller projects that benefit others in the area.”
Groups that were awarded grants in 2023 included Acorn Community Care, Carers Plus Yorkshire Rainbow Lane Project, Malton White Star Band and the North Yorkshire Music Therapy.
To apply for a grant of up to £600, applicants should contact malton.lions@btinternet.com to request an application form or call 01653 694546 for further details (from April 15th)
The deadline for applications is 5pm on Monday May 6th
All applications must be from organisations or charities working in Malton, Norton or the surrounding villages or relate to individuals living in these areas.
